Hi Ass12015 finding the right project was the easy part…Higher yield from lower tonnage from a lower CAPEX per ton product…Lindi ticked all the boxes…Don’t bother with any project below 10%TGC unless you want to part with your money to the makers as they sell the pups…Rinse and repeat Imo
Low strip ratio is another way of saying mostly dirt all being processed with most materials going to the TFS…Ask spid81 why EGR has never been developed…Then pivoted to downstream processing only to then pivot again…What you need to be most aware of is how the makers behave…How the makers make money at Mums and Dads expense (Just ask spid81 who his employer is…)
Lindi project was optimised not the NPV….The NPV type that sucked Mums and Dads into if it’s bigger it’s better type BS only now becoming obvious as projects continue find ways to fund their projects…
If you take for example Lindi required roughly US$1 million per product ton with grades of 18% TGC from a higher strip ratio…Less waste material through the plant. A project in general would double in CAPEX and some if feed grade was 9%TGC
At its best it will yield 70% less than a higher grade project such as Lindi and have twice the CAPEX for plant and need to mine more than material twice as much material for higher ROM. The kicker not all graphite is created equal…Most peers projects don’t have the
expandable graphite produced at Lindi…They will be lucky to achieve US$700 per ton product with an ROM cost similar to revenue.
Its quite an exciting period now as Jinpeng dial in the plant heading towards profitability from 30% plant utilisation. The noise and funded comments now becoming more irrelevant as each milestone increases production rates…
