    I'll be as generous as I can with the geothermal part of the release... It's nice to have high aims, and 10 MW is a nice-sized power plant, 100 MW even nicer, and 300 MW is the nicest.. but... I think that the probability of finding sufficient temperature and flow-rate in the Millungera Basin to support these aims is very low. Permeability is the key character required here and I just don't see enough of it anywhere in Australia.

    Binary geothermal power plants of this scale today are found in the active extensional basin-and-range provinces of the western USA and western Turkey - not in the solid, old, stable Australian continent.

    I think GRV has been misled by the GSQ report. They have failed to realise it was written at a time when deep, basement EGS was in fashion, and using a series of assumptions about how the heat-in-place would be accessed. Its results cannot therefore be applied to complete different styles of geothermal resource, such as a shallow sedimentary aquifer or open fault systems which GRV would be targeting.
