I think in victoria we are going to need more than Donald Trump. The anti fossil fuel lobby have run an extraordinarily successful campaign against on shore gas exploration. Forget the fact that the campaign was based on lies and misinformation the campaign has gained huge support from farmers which in turn puts pressure on the Nats.The more outrageous the claims the more it seemed to galvanize that section of the community. If i had a farm and was told it was going to be turned into a gasland toxic wasteland i probably would be worried even if i was supplied with an alternative argument. Fear is a great factor. I'm not sure what we can do as i don't think there is a politician in victoria that has the intestional fortitude to stare the scare mongers down as doing so may lead to the loss of their seat.
