Great analysis @salpetie ! I don’t really have any comments re your approach other than….looking good and eagerly awaiting subsequent the next version!

Thought this might also be of interest to you, I have been looking at some pre-2007 ASTER data (before the SWIR sensor went into meltdown) to review the VNIR/SWIR/TIR response over Yin and the surrounding targets….the area around DRE’s Y3 target and to the south where you placed your 16 target is also very interesting to me.
The ferric oxide content from the VNIR/SWIR bands (Band4/Band3) highlights the outcropping/subcropping ironstones and the rock-chip sample points at both Yin, Y3 reasonably well and matches the peak Th-response positions.

Ferric oxide from ASTER - Y3 and surrounding area

Around this Y3 area there seems to be three relatively discrete AlOH anomalies in the SWIR using (B5+B7/B6), potentially hydrothermal alteration (white mica), also it could just be zones of more exposed saprolite.

AlOH content from ASTER - Y3 and surrounding area

Coincident with the southern AlOH anomaly, where your 16 is located, there is a diffuse band5/band4 ratio anomaly – possibly indicative of high ferrous iron content in carbonate (i.e. iron rich carbonatite….possibly, maybe, hopefully!?)

    ASTER B5:B4 - Y3 and surrounding area

Note: I haven’t applied the same degree of processing/filters/masks that the Geoscience Aus generated ASTER products contain. This was just a quick look.Considering the combined Th-response, rock-chip geochemistry, broader spectral responses, and magnetic anomaly....that extended Y3 area is looking very exciting (IMO).
