Spotted the activity at Perce last night just as I was shutting down. Every 5 days, cloud permitting, I check the vast area for activity and was only mildly surprised to spot this at Perce.
IMO this is not drilling and looks more like a caravan though a big one at this scale. More detail check after seeing today's announcement showed some activity at 3 sites.
Site 1 looks most like the drill location and matches the image on gravity in the announcement. The spacing of 2 and 3 are puzzling, to me. 2 is probably too far away for a camp site or water bore. 3 only has subtle activity. 1 and 3 in this time lapse for the last 5 days.
Georeferencing the sentinel interp:
Gravity
From announcement
Comparing these gravity images I would say site 3 matches EAL140 location better than site 1. Too close to be certain with the resolution and errors inherent in my work.
But wait, there is more! The profile image on the right gives the coordinates to a reasonable resolution.
The S and N coords are probably the end points of the section. Section is on 482978E and the collar can be scaled from the grid N/S coordinates +-25m or so. This matches well with site 3. Time will tell
Site 1 water bore? needed for drilling IMO.
On magnetics
===============
Top of gravity interp 4-500+-m then drilling another 500m into the gravity feature. Results late July? Visuals for sure. Assays perhaps not by then unless expedited. If Cu in an IOCG visuals will be meaningful if not definitive.
From Porter Geoscience OD data including some photos to give an idea of what they hope to find. [ Magnetite/pyrrhotite destroyed? at Perce hence no magnetic signature as OD has.]
Yellow brassy specks - pyrite +- chalcopyrite in this image. In higher grade portions of OD are other Cu sulphides (chalcocite an important one I believe)
What is encountered is still a fingers crossed exercise. Soon to be revealed.
============================
Checking the rest of ENR ground did not show ANY activity in the last 5 days. Surprising but since I have over estimated the number of sites drilled perhaps not so surprising: 140 vs 70 announced. Always had trouble with aircore on sentinel.
Checked the location of targets on sentinel.
The Hoschke site and associated access are visible in the east as are the tracks towards the west and Kiwirrkurra. Any activity at Macklin or McIllroy targets would involve some access that would likely be visible. Ditto for the Luni Green Joyce area in the image below.
Luni and SW Green visible on left hand margin.
=============
I had expected aircore drilling to be vertical but the photo in a recent announcement suggests -60 holes. This increases coverage and depth to bedrock. Hence deeper holes than vertical.
