    They can do the lot. My understanding that on physical boxes they take a copy of the O/S and above, and essentially create a VM image out of it. It should also allow for a physical to virtual migration (much like Platespin), by creating an image of a physical disk and allowing restoration as a VM.

    Since they also have cloud capabilities (Google/Azure/AWS), you could take that image and create a VM/EC2 out of it.

    In addition, it allows for cloud orchestration and automation, so you could migrate physical to virtual, then manage your cloud infrastructure in the same suite.


    It's not necessarily anything ground-breaking to be honest, but it's big enough for the network effects to kick in. Enough people using it, so it becomes one of the industry norms. That is, until something much better comes along...
