DSO prices go up and down with the price of higher grades of lithium like SC6. SC6 goes up/down with the price of the end product Hydroxide.

There aren't recent ASX examples of multiple shipping of DSO because the low SC6 price environment stopped the economics working and the existing operators had concentration facilities to produce higher grades (which do have better economics). I believe DSO is coming out of Africa to China assisting an increase in lithium supply but various African governments are cracking down on it so as to have in-country processing (which is massively easier to tax/royalty). That is therefore not a clear-cut ASX/TSX listed example.

A back-of the envelope calculation indicates DSO should have good economics at medium-high spod prices. How good is your crystal ball?

The two key things to remember about DSO that lower the cost structure are:
1. While you might need to dig 7-10 ton's of ore for one ton of SC6 (depending on grade/recovery) it could be 1ton dug, 1ton sold with no beneficiation or perhaps 2ton's (of ore) dug for one 1 shipped (simple beneficiation). You can divide C1 mining costs of existing operators by perhaps 5-10 to get an idea of the mining cost within a DSO C1 cost structure.
2. The processing costs are less because you aren't running a DMS/Flotation plant. Depending on the DSO T&C's there will be some crushing and may be some beneficiation.

Its not the long-term play because if you can get the cash together for concentration to SC5.5 - SC6.0 this provides better again returns.
