Probably best to use an example to explain. E.g. let's say AKP want a particular dimension to be 1 nanometer. TJ's equipment can manufacture that dimension to 1 nanometer with a tolerance of +/-0.1 nanometer. This random increase/decrease in dimension causes issues with the sound output of the current design, so they're trying to redesign the chip so those random increases/decreases don't have an impact on sound quality.
