I'd speculate that was the intent of the announcement and deal - leverage the brand of AT&T to promote Digital X. The cynic in me would speculate a CR will come very soon off the back of this announcement.
An optimist might suggest Digital X can leverage this relationship into something more but that would require Digital X to prove to AT&T they can drive revenue, something which is gonna be insanely difficult given there seems to be no demand for the service.
