Hi Ed - totally understand your sentiments there. But the world is littered with the mistakes of good intentions. Don't rob your children of the chance to make their own way in life - to struggle and challenge the odds. Life is about the journeys, not the destinations. Successful struggles - slaying the dragon - are the source of self-actualisation, empathy and deep happiness and the best antidote to narcissism.
Getting things on a plate does not provide that. This is so obvious when you scan the lives of people like Jamie Packer and all the others with silver spoons. Sure, help a bit - maybe helping with a deposit - but, more importantly, facilitate in them the gifts of self-reliance and independence.
