DIRECTOR: AIR: Air New Zealand appoints non-executive director
The Board of Air New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob
Jager as a non-executive director, with effect from 1 April 2013.
Mr Jager is based in New Plymouth where he is General Manager of Shell Todd
Oil Services Limited (the operating Company of the Maui, Kapuni and Pohokura
natural gas fields), Shell Country Chair and Chairman, Shell Companies in New
Zealand. Mr Jager's previous roles include Regional Manager, Maintenance &
Engineering and Regional Business Advisor, Australia, Philippines, Thailand
and China for Shell Corporation. Mr Jager also Chairs the Independent
Government Task Force on Health & Safety.
Originally from an engineering background, Mr Jager's qualifications include
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) 1st class Hons from the University of
Auckland, and Master of Business Administration (Distinction) from Massey
University. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
Air New Zealand Chairman John Palmer commented: "In a complex operational
business such as Air New Zealand we continue to need directors who can
provide wide experience and perspective on key areas like safety. Rob's
background and record will add significantly to our board in that respect."
Mr Jager holds dual New Zealand and Dutch citizenship.
