Why are you comparing this with what's happened elsewhere?
Focus on what may/may not be happening on your own home turf. But since you want to compare the pair - that "other" company made the dual announcement their CEO was gone at the same time as naming the new directors. That left little for shareholders to speculate on, other than "why".
Also, if they wanted to pull "two off the street punters" - as you said - they could have done so a lot cheaper. The resources sector is awash with out of job executives. However, I doubt they could have done it in a day.
Here you are "speculating" why and who will replace. One could also speculate the appointment of a new director coming up from one of the off-take/financial partners, but then that would have been included in the announcement made today - IMO.
