Very interesting appointment, founder of Lynas and ex. Macquarie financial heavyweight awarded an AM "for his work fostering Australia-Chinese relations".
I find it hard to believe that Nick was sitting around last week twiddling his thumbs and just on the off-chance his phone rings and he gets offered the chair at NTU. Whether it was Colin McCavana or somebody with bigtime Sino/AUS business connections that arranged it I guess we will never know, but they certainly landed a gwelio whale for the Chair... interesting times indeedy!
