We know LAU are expanding their use of rail (one reason being the difficulty in getting truck drivers).
We also know LAU is looking to expand into different geographies.
As the rail side of the business is quickly growing, my guess is he’s been brought in as a NED to provide expert advice on that mode of transport.....maybe with a particular focus on the opportunities Inland Rail might provide for expanding the ag freight business.
Sorry if that doesn’t sound as exciting as becoming a major rail operator in one fell swoop, but it seems logical in terms of where the business currently sits, and the duties of a NED.
