Look at AL-U. Imagine buying it in 2007 for $1.20 ish. Say you put in $100,000. Post GFC it hit 10c. You had lost 'on paper' 92% - how many people would have been saying 'cut your loses or why haven't you sold by now? Imagine telling your wife you only have $8k left out of $100k. What happened if they didn't sell - they are now sitting on over $5mill.
