Note especially the comments by Rick Bright - the former director of BARDA (the US Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority). IMO the Mesoblast executive & non-executive team just keeps getting better, with greater weight, and tighter focus on being able to assure the regulators, payers (and the market, of course) that it is on top of and increasing the pressure for CBER acknowledgement of satisfaction of regulatory process requirements.

...and so Peter Marks, as the head of CBER had this to say in August 2021 about Drs Krause & Gruber:

Well, I'm sure Peter Marks (and Rob Califf) would not want CBER to be dragged into another Biogen-like or Pfizer-like debacle, despite Steve Bauer's dreams of glory.

So, I can't but think that Mesoblast has been incredibly fortunate to attract Dr Krause at this critical time.

I don't think Phillip Klause picked up a wet local paper on his front lawn and saw a Mesoblast advert asking for possible Directors with some medical background. We don't know the work involved in securing this notch in the belt, but even though we complain about a lack of announcements the cogs are turning and they are turning forwards, even if the SP isn't.
