Well, they employed a sales team to because you need one, regardless. If a sales team is not employed you don't sell. It is not like they were confident they would be selling truckloads so they employed a sales team. If they were that confident, they would have bought trucks and hired truck drivers.
This is a very different aspect altogether. In that you are confident you will soon have the capacity and the need for such appointment.
I guess if you like to draw an analogy with sale of ryoncil, you could say, they were confident they now have something to sell (which was/is true), so they hired a team to sell it.
