Alistair Ryan appointed Director of Barramundi
The directors of Barramundi Limited are pleased to announce the appointment
of Alistair Ryan as an independent director of the company.
Announcing the appointment, Barramundi's Chairman James Miller said, "The
board is delighted to welcome Alistair as director. In seeking a new
director, the board was very specific about the knowledge and skills required
to provide the right governance mix to complement the continuing directors."
Alistair brings extensive executive experience in the listed and non-listed
company domain in New Zealand and Australia and is well-regarded by their
investment communities. He has worked in a range of top level roles across
all areas including; corporate governance, financial reporting, risk
management, treasury and investor relations. Most recently, over a 15+ year
tenure, he has been the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the
top ten listed company SKYCITY Entertainment Group Limited and held
directorship roles on their various subsidiary company boards.
"Alistair met the specific professional criteria for selection as director of
Barramundi and, in addition, brings strong finance skills providing
leadership in the audit and risk domain," James Miller commented.
Alistair will also join the boards of Barramundi's sister listed investment
companies, Kingfish Limited and Marlin Global Limited - all managed by Fisher
Funds.
Alistair commented, "It is a privilege to be joining the boards of the three
listed investment companies and I look forward to working with the board and
the Fisher Funds team in the interests of the shareholders."
Alistair's directorship takes effect from 10 February 2012. In accordance
with the company's constitution, this appointment runs until the next Annual
Shareholders Meeting when Alistair must retire and seek re-election by the
shareholders.
The opportunity for Alistair to join the board was created in November 2011,
when Annabel Cotton announced her intention to retire from the board. After a
transition period, Alistair will take over as chair of the Audit and Risk
Committee.
