Carol Campbell appointed Director of Barramundi
The directors of Barramundi Limited are pleased to announce the appointment
of Carol Campbell as an independent director of the Company.
Carol brings extensive financial and executive experience within New
Zealand's public and private sector. Carol is a Chartered Accountant and a
member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand. For over 25
years Carol was a partner at Ernst & Young where she was a valued and
respected member of the management team. Carol was one of 10 partners in the
Entrepreneurial Services Group, advising small to medium sized businesses and
was instrumental in launching Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in
1996.
Carol also holds a number of directorships across a broad spectrum of
companies, including Turners and Growers, NZ Post and The Business Advisory
Group (in which she is a joint owner).
The Board was very specific about the background, skills and expertise
required of a new director to complement the existing Board composition and
provide the right governance mix.
Barramundi Chairman, James Miller said: "Carol brings over 30 years of
financial experience and a sound understanding of efficient Board governance.
We are delighted Carol has accepted the position and we believe she will make
a significant contribution to the Barramundi Board."
Carol will also join the Boards of Barramundi's sister listed investment
companies, Kingfish Limited and Marlin Global Limited - all managed by Fisher
Funds.
Carol commented, "I am experienced at adding value at the Board table
especially assisting with compliance, governance, strategy and structure. I
am very pleased to be given the opportunity to join Barramundi, Kingfish and
Marlin Global and I look forward to contributing to an already accomplished
Board."
Carol's directorship takes effect from 5 June 2012. In accordance with the
company's constitution, this appointment runs until the next Annual
Shareholders Meeting when Carol must retire and seek election by the
shareholders.
The opportunity for Carol to join the Board has been created as James Miller
has informed the Boards of Barramundi, Kingfish and Marlin Global of his
intention to retire at the end of the calendar year due to his ongoing
commitments with Auckland International Airport, the Financial Markets
Authority, Mighty River Power and NZX. After a transition period, Alistair
Ryan will replace James as Chairman of the Board and Carol will take over as
Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.
