APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN - FISHER & PAYKEL HEALTHCARE CORPORATION LIMITED
Auckland, New Zealand, 2 April 2012 - Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation
Limited (NZSX:FPH, ASX:FPH) advises that Tony Carter has been appointed
Chairman of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited effective 1 April
2012.
As announced at the company's 2011 Annual Shareholders' Meeting, Tony Carter
succeeds retiring Chairman Gary Paykel, who will continue to serve as a
director of the company.
Tony Carter joined the Board in 2010 after retiring as Managing Director of
Foodstuffs New Zealand. He has broad governance experience and he is also a
non-executive director of Vector Limited, Fletcher Building Limited, Air New
Zealand Limited and ANZ National Bank Limited. Tony Carter originally trained
as a chemical engineer and has considerable experience in complex
organisations.
Mr Carter said "On behalf of the Board, I wish to thank Gary for the
outstanding contribution he has made to Fisher & Paykel Healthcare during his
10 years as Chairman. Gary guided our transition from a division of Fisher &
Paykel Industries Limited to a stand-alone listed company. Since then the
company has grown four-fold and has developed into a global leader in the
design, manufacture and marketing of products for use in respiratory care and
the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea".
