I dont think the way he resigned and caused another 20% drop was honorable. How about putting out a public statement explaining this and making sure there are measures in place before throwing the grenade.

Why leave it this long? Why adjust the sales pool and put out a statement laiming this was done to show confidence...only to know you will fall on your sword a month later?

I doubt this is the reason. It's comforting to think this is why, but it doesn't fit.

Perhaps it's less honourable and more inline that he knew he wouldn't be able to overcome the tech issues, didn't like the odds and so abandoned a potential disaster that would further tarnish him. Why hand around for the inevitable.
