It's very generous, but I'd never donate any money to a organization like that. The problem is that there are so few medical researchers in the world who know what they're doing. For the most part, money is just wasted.... then they put out their hand again for more funding.

There was a guy on HC who was collecting information on how to best deploy funds into medical research. I'll try to remember who it was. But you have to be extremely discerning about where you direct your money. The idea is to get a return on that money, ie. some sort of treatment or cure, not just prop up these guys with funding for their pet projects.
