DIRECTOR: TLS: Resignation of Mr Timothy Y Chen as non-executive Director

Mr Timothy Chen has resigned as a non executive Director of Telstra,
effective today. Mr Chen has decided to return to a full time executive
career based in China.

Telstra thanked Mr Chen for his contribution and acknowledged the valuable
insights he brought to the company during his time on the Board.

In light of Mr Chen's resignation from the Telstra Board, the resolution
relating to his election will not be put to Telstra's 2012 Annual General
Meeting.

The Telstra Board will consider future non executive Director appointments as
part of its ongoing process to maintain an appropriate mix of diversity,
skills, experience and expertise on the Board.
