Appointment of new Independent Director
The directors of The Warehouse Group Limited are pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr Tony Balfour as an Independent Director of the company with
effect from 15 October 2012.
Tony has extensive global retail and e-commerce experience with a strong
track record in a diverse range of industries. Most recently he was General
Manager (Markets) for Icebreaker Clothing with responsibility for the
company's global business units in New Zealand and all other regions
including Australia, USA, Canada and Europe as well as the development of the
company's rapidly growing e-commerce and retail business unit. Prior
experience includes senior roles in Monster.com and Seek.com, both successful
online recruitment sites. Tony also spent nine years at Nike in senior
general management roles in the USA, Australia and Asia Pacific regions.
Since 2009 he has been a director of Silver Ferns Farms, New Zealand's
largest meat company.
In welcoming Tony to the Board, Graham Evans Chairman said, "Tony possesses a
strong background in the global apparel industry and significant experience
in
e-commerce. This together with his strategic experience and capability will
be a valued addition to the overall mix of skills and experience on the board
as we continue to implement our board succession plan."
Tony Balfour's appointment brings the number of independent, non-executive
directors on the board to six of a total board of seven directors.
