Still this is just a play on words and i think any reasonable person could see that the ASX is totally across the AVZ situation..

How can a reasonable person see that?

Seems to me that a reasonable person would not necessarily infer that because no action had been taken yet that they could see that that didn't necessarily mean that there was no interest or nothing behind the scenes. A reasonable person would also not assume that something had happened and was being hidden. In my opinion a reasonable person would reserve judgement.

The law doesn't work instantly even when its broken - things take time and legal officers have to folllow due process and to give those who appear to have done wrong their rights and the benefit of the doubt usually on criminal matters. Burden of proof and all that. Presumption of innocence.

I've some experience dealing with ASIC - know they are respecters of the rights of those who are accused or complained about as well in terms of how they handle things. I also know that they don't commit to act on every complaint they get - they prioritise them. And sometimes a person making a complaint gets no information from ASIC as to what is happening with that complaint.

In matters that are judgement calls - like for instance a company's decision as to whether to disclose something as material or not - I think the ASX and/or ASIC would probably only get involved in second guessing a judgement call if they had reason to do so - like if someone complained or something. And if they did receive such a complaint ASIC would not run up a flag about it.

Just my opinion. Respect your right to have your own.
