The only way petrol ignites is an external source, no ones petrol car has ignited sitting in their garage unless there is an electrical fault/ Spark. The Petrol is never the ignition source. In fact modern fuel tanks are somewhat resistant to fires and fire can be extinguished before fuel ignites anyway.You understand the combustion triangle....right?
The reaction in a Li ion batteries can however overheat and runaway.
Oh and the kicker Li ion fires are close to unexstinguishable!
Zn air batteries eliminate the problem and DVP have a shed load, shit load or shipload of it depending who you ask?
So I still say "Yay for Zn Air!"
