Wow! I just listened to a programme on TV that explained how Trump worked out his tariffs.
Very embarrassing to be honest.
Calculation is the total amount of trade divided by the surplus of trade for a particular country. Even the uninitiates can see a huge flaw in that calculation. Does not reflect any reality.
Plus, the 10% tariff was levied at any country that the US has a surplus of trade – guess that is where the US is ripping those countries off.
I was hopeful that Trumps policies were based on something solid – which is clearly not the case.
Bringing down the global economy – which is going to go into recession – based on this sort of idiocy is almost criminal.
