I agree with what you are saying although I'm careful about using the term "woke" as it seems to include anything we want it to. There has to be a balance and I agree that on many things the balance has gone out the window and special interest groups are given special treatment above and beyond what could reasonably be considered "equal". Responsibility for ones self and our own actions has also been entirely dispensed with.

Since the US lead the way many years back on the concept of punishment being replaced by compensation there has been a general shift in the community encouraging people to identify as being a "victim". Instead of punishing perpetrators we prefer to bribe those that claim to be victims by rewarding them with cash prizes. This was beneficial to victims because justice could be spent on a new car or house and also great for wealthy perpetrators who could negotiate their way out of a traditional penalty. In fact Many wealthy perpetrators or those in positions within institution, governments or management of large corporations didn't even have to pay this compensation personally. Obligation for payment could be offloaded to shareholders, investors, taxpayers or followers of their "organization". I'm sure you can think of many such examples.

Under this new system of liability everybody wants a prize and therefore everybody wants to claim to be a victim. Real perpetrators often don't get properly punished or discouraged from their activities. Equally innocent people are sometimes now accused of things for which there is no possible way to defend yourself and the name or position determines the size of the likely prize any accuser may get.

The system is now setup so such that those who are accused are often better off paying the bribe money rather than fight for the truth. There is no justice in this for the innocent or the guilty and its often tax payers, shareholders, and the public via insurance premiums who end up paying for any misdeeds and / or to settle false accusations. Guilty until proven innocent has also been selectively replaced by guilty until bribe is paid depending on "victim's" claimed ethnic group and/or chosen gender from an ever growing list.

We now have quotas punishments including imprisonment depending on what the accused identifies as, not necessarily on what they are accused or convicted of doing. Fines handed down are base don your ability to pay so if you can't pay because you don't work or pay taxes then there is virtually no penalty.

Religious groups are always seeking to be classified as special and looking for carve outs in legislation. Exempt from tax some of them create thousands of companies and "charities" sitting on endless billions in assets and income. Also exempt from fringe benefits taxes its amazing how many cars, properties and private school bills get paid as tax free fringe benefits rather than income. Now they use their proxies to push for laws which restrict any speech which they consider hostile to them. I'm not talking about any specific one of them either. We see this from many of them. Again they all want to claim victim status.

Both the extreme left and right are in a never ending battle to control the narrative and that is now about who has influence and control over the "news" / opinions / propaganda delivered to you. Both sides have dispensed with truth and its an all out war on our traditional values. The majority are made to feel like they have been part of some giant conspiracy against minority groups and that we should take responsibility for things that we had no role in and may or may not have happened before we were even born. Likewise victims can inherit victim-hood.

They who seek power want us to feel like we may be linked to perpetrators so that we are more likely to support taxpayer funded compensation for those minority groups who can claim victim status. They want us to distance ourselves from the accused. Some of the victims are billionaires who feel that they have paid too much tax whilst other victims are people who feel that they could have been born rich if they could time travel back and change hundreds of years of history. None of them want you to say or be allowed to hear real opinions from people who have actual evidence of the truth. They want the narrative strictly controlled by those that they select as truth tellers and for opposing voices to be outlawed.

You can see I'm not a fan of "woke" things, cancellation politics, rewriting of history etc but equally I caution against wholesale support of those who say they will protect us from this when not so secretly trying to use your support as an opportunity to rob you, tell you lies about who did it and threaten the few remaining witnesses who dare to stand up and tell the truth as to what they saw.

We need change. I completely agree. Trump politics are not good change though. He just uses people's fear and hatred to mobilize them against his enemies. Some of his enemies are people that we dislike with good reason but often it extends to anybody who tells the truth, ask questions which expose lies or deceit, or generally anybody who doesn't drink the koolaide. If we have learned anything in recent years in Biotron discussions its that not everybody who asks difficult questions is necessarily the enemy and not everybody who tells us what we want to hear is our friend.

I think amongst us there are many ideas as to how the basics in our society can be improved to create a fairer and more reasonable foundation to live and move forward. No existing party is going to support that though. They are almost entirely funded by special interest groups who have driven us to where we are. Unions, company boards and religious / ethnic groups. They control the balance of power. Until somebody steps up and creates a party not beholden to these groups (and I don't mean the fat guy either) there can be no positive change.
