Australia actually has no tariffs on US imports Lux - Trump is not telling the truth - zero tariffs were part of the free trade agreement between the US and Australis.

Last nighte rise in US markets preceded Trumps announcement - I suspect that tonight, the US markets will dive.
I get where Trump is coming from Lux so no issue there - however, it takes years to build factories, and the US currently has no capacity to increase production at the moment. Trump should get the capacity up BEFORE introducing tariffs.
Imposing tariffs on allies that don't harm the US seems illogical and non-productive at the very least. All he will achieve is increasing inflationary pressure in the US.
