Thanks for the heads up and apologies for my incorrect assumption around patents. You are correct, I researched and on further examination discovered they felt more secure going the trade secret route with their intellectual property as opposed to patenting as if they were to patent the technology it would make it easier for companies to potentially copy and vary the process and ingredients as they would have to divulge the process when to get the patent. Also they could end up in lots of expensive legal battles so focusing on long term partnerships and contracts to build brand and improve product appears to be their preferred strategy and looking at the results is doing very well.
