The links in my earlier post discuss whether WHC should buyback or pay dividends. My response was buybacks were better than dividends, because the shares were trading at low multiples. WHC management are doing both.
Here, it looks like buybacks aren't an option. So dividends are better than just sitting on cash. But I'd prefer buybacks at current prices, especially with the upcoming unfranked dividend imposing a tax liability.
In the last statement of reserves (23 August 2021), the company says they had 10 years left in BA. If they really only have 9 years left now, then sure pay everything out. I didn't realise there wasn't anything else going for TER.
