The dividend amount was one of the reasons I got sucked into buying this stock in 2019, it was almost 7.5% yield for me at the time, but short lived - I saw for almost 10 years prior to 2019 BOQ had been paying a steady and increasing dividend (since sept 2010) and had only been substantially reduced during the GFC years (but bounced back to well past those pre GFC div amts after GFC), there was little to suggest it was at risk of a substantial long term cut based on years prior to 2019.... https://www.intelligentinvestor.com.au/shares/asx-boq/bank-of-queensland-limited/dividends?page=1 . The div amount has pretty much been downhill since the new chairman and CEO changes came in 2019 - we've gone from 34 cents to 20 cents, . If you look at the table, its a larger and longer decline than during the GFC (and its a worse decline in dividend amount as a percentage than any other major bank or even BEN, basically we have a 41% decline, so we can't put it all down to covid, in fact almost every major bank and BEN are close their pre covid amounts). 5 years of disappointment makes me regret not selling during Sep/Oct 2021 just shortly after the ME bank acquisition.

The bottom line is the div amount is not stable and we're going through the largest percentage decline in dividend amount in BOQ's history since Pat came in. If I was looking at BOQ's dividend history now, I would definitely not buy, even if the yield currently looks appealing at the current SP. Just can't tell if another cut is coming.
