it kinda does when your adding value for yourself only... Large shareholders that invest, often use debt, therefore the petty dividend you claim is worth far more than .5c.
If this .5c dividend is not distributed it’s chump change…what really do you think they will do with it… your thinking like a small investor with $100 to invest…if large shareholders sell out, what happens to the share price??
Do you seriously not think, that maybe they are are not concerned with the shareholders that is considering only a $100 dividend, or don't you think they want to draw on investors that have a genuine impact on the share price, improve the network, etc… The world is much larger than you.
