"Hi JB, I am a little cautious on the numbers or sources because I look at a combination of forecasters (the usual suspects - commsec and a raft of brokers, financial advisors etc as and when they come out) and then "average" this out. It is not not as scientific as I would like but I also don't want to rely on any one broker because forecasting in this business one year out is fraught with uncertainty. The second point to make is that most forecasts talk about the accounting period ie the FY results - whereas I am interested in the dividend distribution within a FY. In essence what I was trying to do in my own meagre way is to gain a better understanding of rolling 6 month dividend payouts. Having said that, here is the number I had for the dividend distribution in FY2023: $1.65 per share - we ended at $1.99. Over time I may be able to get a clearer picture on the likely over or under estimate of dividends to help inform my own thinking. As always do not take this as advice and DYOR.
