There are two dividend cycles each year. The next one due late September and the
one after that is late March,

To get he franking credits yo must own those shares for at least 45 days.

Once the company sets the record date, the ex-dividend date is set based on stock exchange rules. The ex-dividend date for stocks is usually set one business day before the record date. If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the next dividend payment.

The stock tends to drop the amount of the dividend and then drops a bit more when the date passes before the rise again.
Only one year it went up due to IO prices that were heading past $200US/T but in general the stock falls the amount of the dividend or a bit more before it picks up again.

Buy in fear and sell in green. Fear is leading up to June 30 most years.
Greed is when IO prices go very high along with good reporting news.

I am basically a holder. I buy in troffs. I am only interested in the divs and franking credits.

Not advice. Just what I do. Some sell at the high points and buy back in at the low points.
As always each to their own madness.
