The luxury living standard is depending on one’s expectations to what is luxury. For me I have rented a one bedroom apartment with a sea view (42 SQ meter) for 200 AS a week. It has beautiful swimming pool, sauna , spa and gym! This is a luxury for me . In Byron Bay you can’t get a room in a shared house for 200 !! I don’t wash or cook and i eat out and go to see different bands at night and I have one massage every day. It is all luxury for me ! I don’t need a car , I catch a taxi everywhere. I can not ford this lifestyle in Australia in my retirement! For me is a luxury. I am Australian resident and I have my house in Byron and I kept a room of it and the rest is rented out . I go at least every year once at least back to Australia for a few weeks and I travel a lot , but most of the time I spend my time in Thailand as it is very safe and cheap to live very well and Thai people are really nice . I hope I answered your questions.
