I can understand if the shares were held in a SMSF in Pension...

    I can understand if the shares were held in a SMSF in Pension mode..... but if the shares were held outside a SMSF, sooner or later (presumably) they would be sold triggering a CG event ? The divvies would and should be excluded from any CG event. I would hope that the shares DO keep increasing, but in my mind this creates a larger gap between the purchase and the sale price increasing the CGT.
    Pls feel free to tell me where Im going wrong..........
