I’m not a holder. I’m a QBE holder who has ventured here to try and figure out what on earth is going on! I am astonished at the ridiiculous sell down. Teddyward has pointed out the “reason” by providing the note from Capital Partners. Future premium increase guidance softening from mid-high single digits to the lower end of same. Well…so what? Goodness! Sure, it’s a negative, but how does that equate to a revaluation of minus 12%? It’s explained that it’s in the context of a favourable claims trend. And there was a lot to like in this report to offset that anyway. Today’s sell-off seems irrational to me. I expect the losses will be fully recouped in due course, when the dust settles. No-one should be selling IAG today. Madness!
