I'm sure lithium is why a lot of investors are here but to me it's a bonus. Nothing wrong with lithium or lithium stocks - I'm a happy holder of PLS as well as MIN. The problems I see are 1) there's a lot of competition and the barriers to entry are low 2) while there will always be Li-on batteries I'm not sure that all cars (let lone mass storage) will be using them for very long, say in another ten years or so. Cheaper, better, safer electric energy storage options will emerge. But in the meantime it's a bit of a goldrush and I'm happy to profit from it as much as anyone. When it comes to iron though, there is no alternative and Australia's 'moat' is very wide. MIN just need to take a small chunk of it to multiply itself in size, especially when combined with its services and energy businesses. Lithium is icing on the cake.
