I have also contemplated the SP movement anticipated and have analysed what happed to YAL. the above table is a bit messy (columns are date, price, closing price change, weighed average change, % closing price change, %weighted price change) but what shows is for the YAL divdend, the stock jumped up 14% when it was announced (70.4 unfranced or 20.2% yeild of price before announcement. then it ran up another 172 cent before the exdividend date then dropped 71c in terms of closing price or 101c in terms of the weighted average priced for the day. YAL also has since recovered its ex div drop. my view is that it will drop more than 30c due to the run up just like YAL the recovery will be largely linked to coal prices which over the 28feb-till now time period have been volatile but firmed due to the macro and geopolitical issues.
