Oh, yes!
Insurers couldn't take a trick for a decade with interest rates falling to zero. A very long drought. Now, with reasonable rates, profits and dividends return.
I expect QBE to indulge in M&A with its abundant capital. Not a giant takeover, more likely bite sized chunks where opportunity presents, such as insurance agents whose business can be funnelled into QBE products. Europe, N America are particularly attractive.
Mr Market likes the result - up 7% as I write.
