Most folks are not reading the shortman site properly IMHO.
Thos figures in the table are the daily figures isolated to each days data, they are not aggregated.
The graph above the table though is aggregated but with a T+4 lag.
Hover your mouse over the blue line on the graph and it will show you the figures aggregated.
One only has to look at the graph to see the shorts are going higher.
We now have last Wednesday 28th Aug aggregate amount since I posted above and it has climbed higher again to
11,703,222 or 3.49% of capital in aggregate.
The day before (Tue 27th) it was 11,586,254
So from Tue 27th to Wed 28th an increase of 116,968 shorts, Ya with me?
So, if you now go to last Wednesday 28th on the table below the graph.
Gross shorts were 316,946. But we can see from the graph that less than half those gross shorts we actually held at the end of the day.
199,978 were covered. and the 116,968 were added.
Its a pity we retailers dont get the aggregated figures at the end of each day, not have to wait the 4 days lag.
Thats how I read the shortman website anyway so do your own research and check it out for your selves, Im not giving any advice above its just how I see it myself.
If Im wrong then I shall gladly be corrected.
