agree 100% if your young buy an index fund you will beat almost everyone. wish l was 20 years old!
VG1 would have been a high risk holding to buy on listing, a portfolio weighting of 1.5% would have been appropriate l think??
after a decade of knowing a company you can increase your portfolio % (or it will grow) to 6% then measure your total performance against a benchmark and diversify. (l use 6% except for SOL&BKW)
if a company goes to crap you will be ok. you will know exactly how much you under or outperform the index then work understand the reasons and what action is needed.
