With most portfolio's having delivered strong capital growth this FY, I think a number of smart cookies will be using VTG to offset some gains and use the 43%+ full franked dividend.

I think it's likely to be down to a timing thing. There is no need for non-holders to buy them until record date, and it's human nature to leave things until a deadline. I suspect they'll continue to creep upward until they go ex, as Accountants & Financial Planners all over the country remind their clients of the unique opportunity.
