WAR is a dumb idea though it would be nice to think it could improve the share price of Vg1 and VG8.. I've been a holder of ETL9467 global opportunities trust for two years. Similar thesis to WAR. A manager of managers. 1% net return in 2 years! I calculated management fees ex performance fees were 4.5%. And paying 1% advisor fee too. Wouldn't touch anything like it again.
back to VG1, what are your thoughts on the second shareholder letter to Rob? Can't see any changes in the wind. I've been trying for ages to try to get Vgi to allow 25% redemption at NTA. I'd put most of it back in anyway. I agree with the author that it must be over greed for fees. 4% yield isn't going to cut the mustard.
