Like you core a hole out of your desk to run a cable through. The coring of the well at 4000m depth using tons of drilling string that would twist, turn, shake, vibrate strongly down the hole. Do it slowly to make sure they have a nice core for further experiment. If not, they might end up having a bunch of broken rocks.
