I'd argue on the counter to be fair.
A 'polished' product should ideally launch as a Minimum Viable Product on both iOS and Android. Start it out as MVP, then add new features to both platforms gradually with the aim to keep feature parity.
The issue they will have is that every-time they add something new/bug fixes to the iOS app, they just keep blowing out the timelines on the Android App development backlog.
IMO.
