To be honest, way too much emphasis in announcements are placed on footwall/basal part of the intrusion as a "settle target".
Dr Steve Beresford (Nickel expert with UWA + numerous industry companies) always hammered home that these ni-cu orthomagmatic deposits, they form in magma pipes which are pipes of dynamic flow, the settling thesis is overated/over postulated deposition control (gravity).
The take home message is, as it's dynamic flow, it doesn't need to be on the footwall. Think of a small pipe flowing into a large pipe and then back into a small pipe. When the fluid (magma here) is in the small pipe it flows faster relative to when it hits a jog/larger section of the pipe. Its this change in dynamics that can often form the best deposits.
Overall the plenty of anomalies to test, both at the current target and in the district. Key thing is the modelling + distance the downhole IP can "see" is limited, so its open at depth!
