Well I'm not quite as cynical, but this sentence grabbed me on first read:


There is a way of reading that that makes sense, I think.

I believe this is more than about cred for a CR, although clearly it is top of mind (which of course it needs to be given where we are).

I think this is about transition to a professional company - everything about this company suggests its not competent from a corporate governance perspective. And it has in recent past had not much of a clue about sales.

Ron should bring those things in spades. It is a very different role in my view - but lets see how it plays out.

My read is that DG is not the guy to do this stuff and that without it HMD is unlikely to be successful. DG is going to be the guy that makes it works behind the scene (tech innovation, integration, systems etc) which is also very much needed, and as an engineer where his valuable expertise lies.
