if I had to guess (and it is just a guess), I'd say one of two things:

1 - interest rates are going up so money is getting a little less free. you might expect the spec stocks to bear some brunt of that as risky investments become less appealing under the circumstances.

2 - a shake down of the east tennant as drill results draw near. bigger holders trying to scare smaller holders into selling so IF there is good news the rocket to the moon launches from a lower price. giving interested parties the opportunity to get in lower upon a discovery.

like I said, just my uninformed opinions. may be totally off the money.
